The annual value of the scholarship is $500 to $1500 depending on the number of applicants and/or the duration of the practical placement. Up to three scholarships are typically offered each year.
The tenure is for a single academic year. The NZ Pork Industry Board may, in certain cases, consider making a further award in subsequent years to successful applicants.
Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, Bachelor of Animal Science, or Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Massey University. Applicants must be undertaking a minimum of two weeks practical work/ placement on a commercial pig farm.
